MV TUTOKO

Though a few meters shorter our original ship TUTOKO is still our baby. This historic vessel was specifically designed to cope with the rigors of Fiordland.

With a spacious lounge offering panoramic viewing there is ample seating for the small groups we enjoy aboard this ship.

The roof windows especially are an awesome addition allowing the full perspective of Fiordland to flood in whilst you enjoy the comforts of shelter on those occasional rainy days.

The lounge

This little ship accommodates eight clients in a very spacious and comfortable lounge.

With the diesel stove running full time there is always a hot cuppa to be enjoyed and it keeps the place cozy in the worst of extremes.

With a BBQ and gas burner on the back deck this augments the cooking facilities and allows the chef to create some amazing gastronomical dishes fresh from the sea.

Scuba Diving

Scuba Diving is an awesome experience in Fiordland. This unique environment has evolved many different underwater life forms over the millions of years of creation.

And the rainfall has its own special effect reducing the sunlight and bring normally deep water species up closer to the surface.

Fishing

Revered for its fishing Fiordland can provide exceptional experiences.

Of course the famed blue cod is prevalent on the coast and some are stonkers; 64cm is our current boat record so come and see if you can beat the mark.

Other species of preference are the hapuka, blue nose, blue fin tuna and kingies, trumpeter, tarakihi, gurnard; all available at various times of the year.

Hunting

Deer hunting is a prime pass-time for many New Zealanders’.

Red deer were released in the early 20th century to introduce a gentleman’s sport to the hills of Fiordland.

Every year the call of the stags get the blood going for many hunters and we see them flock to Fiordland to achieve that trophy head.
