Milestone Celebration

Bypass the Bus.
Land on Luxury.

The 50th birthday that deserved more. The anniversary that needed to be remembered. The retirement that earned something remarkable. This is how you mark it.

Some Milestones Deserve More
Than a Restaurant

There's a table at a good restaurant, and then there's a private vessel anchored in the most extraordinary body of water in the Southern Hemisphere, your chef plating crayfish you helped haul from the pot that afternoon, the sun setting behind a 1,500-metre wall of ancient rainforest.

One of those is a nice evening. The other is a story that gets told for the rest of a life.

Signature Add-On

Arrive by Helicopter

The standard approach to Doubtful Sound — boat across Lake Manapouri, coach over Wilmot Pass — is itself remarkable. But for a true milestone, we offer something else entirely.

The Heli-Hero arrival: a private helicopter transfer from Queenstown, sweeping low over the Southern Alps and landing directly at Doubtful Sound's edge — where MV Tutoko II is waiting, crew on deck, champagne already poured.

This is how you begin a celebration that someone will remember at eighty.

Enquire About Heli Arrival

Built Around the Occasion

Our crew designs every element of the on-board experience around the person or couple being celebrated.

Premium Beverages

A curated selection of New Zealand wines, champagne, and craft spirits. We never discount — we elevate. Your celebration receives the cellar's best.

Bespoke Menu

Our chef designs a celebration feast entirely around the guest of honour and their party. Every dietary requirement is captured at booking and built into the menu before the vessel leaves — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies, kids' favourites, religious requirements, or simple preferences. Seafood-led if that's the brief; surf-and-turf if you'd rather; something else entirely if needed. No set menu for milestones — every plate is shaped around your group.

The Celebration Moment

Anchored in a silent arm, stars overhead. Your crew knows when to step back and when to step forward. The moment is yours — they make it extraordinary.

Photography Assistance

Our crew know these waters and this light better than anyone. Tell us what images matter — they will ensure you get them.

Premium cabin priority for milestone bookings. Heli-Hero arrival by additional arrangement. Contact us to design your full celebration.

The right date for a milestone is a specific date. If you see one that works, claim it. We hold dates for milestone celebrations on request — but we carry twelve guests maximum, and popular seasons fill early.

Mention this is a milestone celebration when booking — we'll contact you to design the experience around your occasion.

"My husband's 60th. I booked the helicopter, the premium cabin, and told the crew the story. They turned it into something neither of us will ever forget. Fiordland at sunset from a helicopter, then anchored in total darkness with champagne and crayfish."

Carolyn W. — Sydney, Australia

"Our 25th anniversary. We'd been to Europe, the Maldives, everywhere. Nothing touched this. The intimacy, the scale, the feeling that the entire fiord existed only for us that night."

Michael & Lynne B. — Auckland

Twelve Guests.
Three Crew. One Fiord.

Twelve guests is a deliberate choice. It's the number that allows your crew to know your name, cook around your preferences, and make space for the moments that matter — without a speaker announcement or a queue for the rail.

Your Crew Knows You

Three crew, twelve guests. Your skipper, chef, and deckhand genuinely get to know every person on board. Special occasion? Dietary needs? Sorted before you arrive. This is the difference between hospitality and service.

No Queue for the View

When the waterfall comes into view, or the fur seals appear on the rocks, everyone sees it together from the rail. No waiting, no shuffling past strangers. The fiord feels essentially yours for the night.

25+ Years of Local Knowledge

Our crew knows where the crayfish pots will be full tomorrow. Which arm of the fiord gives the clearest stars. They know Doubtful Sound the way a local knows their neighbourhood — because they do.

The Experience

Arrive by Helicopter

Bypass the bus entirely. Fly direct from Queenstown and land on deck in under 45 minutes. The Heli-Hero arrival.

The Evening Feast

Your dedicated chef curates daily menus around sustainably harvested local seafood — including crayfish from the pot that afternoon — a genuine catch-and-cook experience.

Your Private Vessel

MV Tutoko II at anchor in the fiord. Twelve guests maximum. On a milestone voyage, the experience is designed entirely around you.

The Moment

Anchored in a silent arm. Stars overhead. Your crew knows when to step back. The celebration is entirely yours.

Light in the Fiord

Fiordland's weather is dramatic. When it clears, the light is extraordinary — and it always clears.

The Valley Walls

1,200-metre cliffs rising from black water. A scale that makes everything else feel small — including the occasion for once.
